Polyethylene (PE) is the most used plastic in the world. It is produced by the polymerization of the ethylene monomer. Polyethylenes are classified into High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low density polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). LLDPE is estentially a linear polymer with small amount of short chain branching. This makes the polymer flexible and tough. Due to these attributes, LLDPE finds widespread use in the Packaging and Film industry.
