Now, oxidation is a chain reaction process involving free radical intermediates, and Antioxidants play a crucial role in decomposing free radicals through chemical reactions. So, by incorporating anti-oxidants in your products, they can be saved from degradation over time.

These masterbatches are comprised of a blend of primary and secondary antioxidants, which work together to provide comprehensive protection against oxidative degradation. The components which make up these masterbatches include:

• Primary Antioxidants: These are hindered phenols that act as radical scavengers. They provide long-term protection by interrupting the chain reaction of oxidation at its initial stage itself. Hindered phenols can stop the peroxide radical's ongoing activity of extracting protons from molecular chains. They are effective in stabilizing the finished product throughout its entire service life. Examples include Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), Irganox 1010, Irganox 1076.
• Secondary Antioxidants: These include phosphites and thioesters, which act as process stabilizers. They decompose hydroperoxides into non-radical products and hence prevent the formation of new free radicals. They are particularly effective during the processing stages, where the material is exposed to high temperatures and mechanical stress.
